How Funding Helped
When Men’s Minds Matter began working with David Riddell Memorial CIO, the agreed goal was to strengthen their fundraising capacity rather than fund a single project. This strategic focus aimed to make the charity self-sustaining, ensuring long-term impact.
Since receiving funding, the charity has made significant progress:
Developed a diversified fundraising strategy, reducing reliance on any single income source.
Doubled fundraising income between 2023 and 2024, with a target to double again in 2025 (a 200% increase), excluding David Riddell Memorial CIO funding.
Are now able to be self-sustaining which is enabling further growth and investment in the development of their approach to psychological intervention for people at risk of suicide.
This stability allows Men’s Minds Matter to expand its support, including:
Offering more crisis support for those in need.
Running impactful campaigns (like “The S Word” and “adopt a middle-aged man”) to challenge stigma and raise awareness of suicide in men.
Delivering workshops and carrying out research to refine their approach.
Developing their unique approach to intervention so that it is more easily accessible to those in need.
